The Water Margin is a 43-episode TV series jointly produced by CCTV and China TV Drama Production Center, which is adapted from the novel of the same name by Shi Naian in Ming Dynasty. Directed by Zhang Shaolin, adapted by Yang Zhengguang and Ran Ping, starring Li Xuejian, Zhou Yemang, Cang Jinsheng, Ding Haifeng and Zhao Xiaorui.

The drama tells the story that the emperor was fatuous, the traitor was in power, the government was corrupt, and corrupt officials framed Zhong Liang, which made the people miserable. Many honest and kind people were forced to fight back by the government, and eventually 18 heroes gathered in Liangshan Bay, but Song Jiang's surrender to the court made a vigorous peasant uprising finally fail.
