"Sideways" records what happened during a week when two middle-aged men drove a slightly coquettish convertible red car in an attempt to escape from life.

Miles is a boring middle school teacher who dreams of becoming a writer, but he has not received a reply after submitting his manuscript. What's worse is that he and his wife have been divorced for two years, but he still cannot accept the reality that the marriage has failed and the love he loves has left him. Miles, who had always been in love with wine, now couldn't help but drink bottle after bottle. After all, drinking can make himself feel better.

At the beginning of the film, Miles overslept again because he drank too much. Getting ready to go out in a hurry, I simply packed breakfast at a fried fast food restaurant and hit the road. His destination is a wealthy manor, which is the home of the soon-to-be wife of his good friend Jack. Now Jack is spending the last leisure time before marriage with his future parents-in-law and his wife's family.

In fact, Jack is waiting for Miles to drive him to a vineyard far away to taste wine, and more importantly, to make the final struggle of being single and wandering away from life. He shows off his masculine charm and never misses any opportunity for a one-night stand. But what Jack was planning on Miles wasn't entirely clear. In Miles' plan, he just wanted to taste wine, play golf, have a good rest in the hotel, and spend this ordinary and simple week.

It took me three times to finish watching this movie intermittently. This movie is really like wine, bitter and hard to swallow, but it seems to have a lingering fragrance after drinking it. "Sideways" was a popular film in 2005. Although the actor is not a big name, he has no good looks. The story is still very slow. The cost was also very low, but it dominated the nominations.

Pinot Grape

Sex

I don’t know why there are so many sex-related things in movies. Will it affect the plot if these sexual content are deleted and not filmed? I'm not sure.

Maybe I didn’t get what the director wanted to convey.

I think these sex-related contents are still worth pondering, such as:

Jack has a beautiful fiancée who is about to get married. The two are deeply in love, but have almost no contact in the story.

Miles once had a wife whom he loved very much, but the marriage was still unhappy. So Miles also had affairs within his marriage and had sexual contact with other women.

During the week-long trip, from the moment Jack started to come into contact with Asian girls, the sexual aspect inevitably came to the fore.

To find the answer to the third question. Children will strive to be first and strive to be better than others. Work your way up the food chain. Strive to gain the appreciation, recognition and likes of others.

Many of us are actually still looking for the answer to the third question.

Miles was eager for his book to be published. It is because I hope to be recognized, and publishing is a proof of recognition. The editor said it was very good, and the publisher said it liked it, but it was useless. As long as it is not published. He just felt useless.
