Yan Shouping was only married once.

Yan Shouping was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu in 1941. He is a national first-class performer at the Beijing Peking Opera Theater and enjoys special allowances from the State Council. Graduated from Beijing Opera School with honors in 1959. In the 1970s, he successfully became famous throughout the country for his accompaniment to the drama "Cuckoo Mountain". Yan Shouping's wife Ma Xiaoman is a Peking Opera actor and the daughter of Ma Lianliang.

Currently, he is a Beijing Huqin musician at the Beijing Peking Opera Theatre, a member of the Chinese Operators Association, the vice president of the Huqin Professional Committee of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society, and the president of the Jinghu Research Association.

His major works;

The first "Yan Shouping Jinghu Symphony Concert" held in Beijing in 1987 set a precedent for the concerto between Jinghu and Western instruments.

In 1988, he collaborated with the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra and held his first solo concert, which was a success and was greatly welcomed by the audience. He once recorded the "Beijing-Hu Symphony Concerto", and major audio and video publishing houses across the country have successively published his solo albums and dozens of audio tapes and accompaniment tapes.

In 1990, he collaborated with the Ballet Symphony Orchestra to record the "Symphony and Jinghu" laser disc for the Dutch Polygram record company. Later, in 2002 and 2004, it successfully held two Jinghu solo and Jinghu solo symphony concerts, both of which were great successes.
