Hunan Technology and Business University is a public university.

Hunan University of Technology and Business (Hunan University of Technology and Business, referred to as Hunan University of Technology and Business), located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, is an academician-led university covering management, economics, engineering, science, law, literature, art, and interdisciplinary subjects. It is a comprehensive university with multi-disciplinary mutual support, coordinated development and distinctive characteristics. It is a full-time general higher education institution organized by the People's Government of Hunan Province. It was selected into the "Hunan Province 2011 Plan" and was selected as a first-class discipline construction university in Hunan Province.

The school includes four campuses, namely South Campus, North Campus, Moon Island Campus and Baiguoyuan Campus. As of June 2022, the school has 23 secondary colleges, with 70 undergraduate majors (including 3 Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate majors), 19 national first-class majors, and 33 provincial first-class majors. The school has 11 first-level academic degree master's degree programs and 15 professional degree authorization programs. As of March 2022, the school has 1,316 full-time teachers.

Research results:

1. The school has undertaken 2,033 scientific research projects of various types at all levels, including 148 national-level projects, including: 4 major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation project, and 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China major research plan integration project.

2. 2 major humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, 7 key projects of the National Social Science Fund, and 1 major national soft science project.

3. 20 humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, 11 major projects of the Provincial Social Science Fund; won 1 first, second and third prize each of the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Institutions Scientific Research Outstanding Achievements (Humanities and Social Sciences) items, the first prize of which fills the gap in Hunan Province.
