Story: Swallow and Grandpa

In the far, far north, there is a small mountain village where an old grandfather lives. Grandpa has no son or daughter, and he is lonely alone. One spring, a guest came to grandpa's house. It is covered with a black coat, a white belly, and its tail is like an open pair of scissors. It flies high and light, and it turns out to be a swallow. It flew around grandpa's hut several times. Seeing grandpa laughing and being gentle, it decided to settle down here. Swallows brought straw and grass stalks, and built a bird's nest under the eaves of grandpa's house with the soil on the ground, and lived there ever since. Grandpa cleans the yard clean every day to prevent the old cat and the big black dog from barking, and puts a clean plate in the yard to add water and food to the swallows every day. As the days passed, Swallow and Grandpa were as close as a family, and Grandpa was no longer alone.

Autumn is coming, and the weather is getting colder and colder. Swallows are moving their families to the south. Swallow can't bear to part with grandpa, and grandpa can't bear to part with swallow. Swallow flies around grandpa's house again and again, as if to say, "Grandpa, don't be sad, I will definitely come back next spring." Swallows fly away, and grandpa looks forward to the early arrival of spring every day.

The next spring, the swallow did come back with some companions. Grandpa's yard is more lively. Grandpa is really happy. He is happy every day. Before long, the swallow hatched a baby. When the adults and children in the neighborhood knew about it, they all came to see the swallow, who was singing "chirp, chirp". Grandpa's small yard is full of laughter.
