Tabardi never got married and had no children. In her biography published in 1995, she openly talked about her romance. In her early years, she fell in love with a handsome young medical college student, and she had been secretly married for life. Later, she had a happy love experience with Italian baritone singer Nicola Rossi-Lemeni, and Rossi-Lemeni even abandoned the daughter of conductor Serafin to marry her. She also talked with conductor basler for four years, but in the end she chose to leave because she didn't want to break up each other's family.
In an interview in her later years, she said that she had no regrets about her single life: "I have fallen in love many times, and love is very important to a woman. But how can I be a wife and a mother at the same time as a singer? Who will look after my children when I travel around the world? "
Tabardi bid farewell to the opera stage in the metropolis in January 1973, and she played Tess Mona again in the farewell performance. In the next few years, she only attended concerts, and she often cooperated with tenor Caulery. Through concert performance, she was able to travel around the world and visited the Soviet Union in 1975. Her last appearance was at Scala Theatre in May 1976, when she was 54 years old. Explaining why she retired from the stage when she was in good condition, she said: "This is to avoid the painful decline process."
Tabardi made many records in DECCA, leaving behind many legendary opera recordings, including otello, Force of Destiny, Andrea Cernil, Bohemian, Tosca, Madame Butterfly and bard.
