Introduction
It coincides with the "double celebration" of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland. This Macau International Music Festival will invite internationally renowned and outstanding musicians to perform in Macau.
Famous orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Macau Chinese Orchestra, Grammy Award winner Billy Childs, Bulgarian violinist Rusev and other musicians and bands will participate in the performance. During the festival, there will be separate indoor and outdoor concerts and there will be a number of extended events including 'master classes', lectures and special school sessions.
Mu Xinxin, Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, said at the press conference that the outdoor concerts of this music festival will be broadcast in EU member states, allowing international music lovers to focus on Macao and further realize the goal of "letting the world see to Macau”. Mu Xinxin said that while focusing on classical music, this music festival also invited the band "Four and a Half Minutes" from Portugal to Australia, which skillfully blends classical and pop music.
According to reports, about 50% of the music in this music festival comes from the mainland and Macau. In addition to inviting young violinist Sophia and the Macao Chinese Orchestra to participate, there is also the intangible cultural heritage "Jiangnan Sizhu" brought by the Shanghai Ethnic Music Research Association.
