Lingnan Normal University (Lingnan Normal University), referred to as "Lingnan Normal University", is located in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. The history of Lingnan Normal University can be traced back to Leiyang Academy founded in 1636. In 1903, the school was restructured into Leiyang Middle School. In 1904, teacher education was established. In 1935, it was renamed Guangdong Provincial Leizhou Normal University. The school was officially restructured into Leizhou Normal College in 1978, upgraded and renamed Zhanjiang Normal College in 1991, and changed to Lingnan Normal College in 2014.
