The lyrics are inspired by every bit of life

The lyricist of "Fishtail Skirt" is Li Zongwen, a reporter from the "Nanning Evening News". When talking about the creative process, tears could not help but appear in the corners of his eyes. "She was busy working for the people to live a better life and sacrificed on the front line of poverty alleviation. She was only 30 years old. We are all flesh and blood, how could we not be moved and shed tears?"

June 2019 , shortly after Huang Wenxiu's death, the Guangxi Musicians Association organized a music creation event with the theme of Huang Wenxiu's deeds. At the invitation of He Shuqiang, executive vice chairman of the Guangxi Musicians Association, and many suggestions, Li Zongwen, a member of the Guangxi Musicians Association and a long-term worker in culture and art, decided to compose a song to mourn Huang Wenxiu.

He learned about Huang Wenxiu’s work and life through various channels. After learning that Huang Wenxiu had the habit of writing a diary and playing the guitar, as well as the story of the fishtail skirt that was kept in the closet without even the tag being cut off, Li Zongwen quickly wrote the lyrics of that fishtail that shocked the soul. Skirt, naturally became the title of the song.
