By the due date, the baby is too calm and shows no signs of labor. Pregnant mothers can try these methods to induce labor:
1. Exercise induction method. You can choose to take a walk or climb stairs.
2. Dietary induction method. For example, oats have an obvious inducing effect on labor; some components contained in purslane stems and leeks can excite the uterus and increase the contraction of uterine smooth muscles.
3. Bathing to induce labor. Shower with warm water every day, especially repeatedly flush the bulging abdomen from the upper part of the belly. While rinsing, gently stroke the abdomen with the palm of your hand.
If it has not started after 42 weeks, the doctor will consider using an oxytocin injection to induce labor.
The cervical canal is about 2cm long before labor. After labor, the internal cervical opening expands upward and outward. Then the cervical canal gradually shortens until it disappears and becomes part of the lower segment of the uterus. Therefore, the disappearance of the cervical canal is one of the signs of labor. The disappearance of the cervical canal indicates that labor is imminent, and delivery usually occurs within 24 hours.
However, in primiparous women, the cervical canal disappears first and the external cervical os expands later; in multiparous women, the cervical canal disappears and the external cervical os expands at the same time.
If it is the first childbirth, the progress of labor is generally very slow. The specific time it takes for the cervical canal to disappear varies from person to person. Some take a long time, while others disappear quickly.
If the cervix does not disappear, it is recommended to relax, listen to soft music, and wait for regular uterine contractions and redness.
