Who is the greatest musician?
1. Bach Johann Sebastian Bach (German: Johann Sebastian Bach, also translated as Bach, March 21, 1685-July 28, 175) was a German composer in the Baroque period and an outstanding organ, violin and harpsichord player. Bach is generally regarded as one of the most important composers in the history of music, and is honored as "the father of modern music in the west", and also one of the most important figures in the history of western culture.

Bach was born in a musical family in Eisenach, a small town in Thuringia, central Germany. During his lifetime, he was a famous court musician and spent most of his life in St. Thomas' Church in Leipzig, Germany, enjoying the same fame as composers Han Deer and Teleman.

Although his music did not create a new style, his creation used rich German music style and skillful polyphony skills. His music integrates the essence of baroque music style. However, due to the rapid change of music style to Rococo and classicism, Bach's polyphonic music is regarded as a stale thing, and its achievements have not been properly evaluated for a long time, and it is only known as an organ player. Although great composers such as Mozart and Beethoven admired Bach's works, it was not until the Romantic era that composer Schumann discovered Bach's Passion in Leipzig's library and was sung by composer Mendelssohn at the concert that the music world was shocked. Since then, Mendelssohn has explored, sorted out and popularized his works. Through the concerted efforts of several generations of musicians, Bach has gradually gained today's lofty status.
