Yan Weiwen is a young tenor singer of the General Political Department Song and Dance Troupe, a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a national first-class actor, and enjoys special allowances from the State Council.
Yan Weiwen studied under Professor Jin Tielin. His singing draws on the strengths of many singers, with pure and sweet timbre, wide and smooth vocal range, simple and sincere emotions, and outstanding demeanor. Free and easy yet delicate, passionate yet profound, he is a leader in today's music scene and is deeply loved by listeners and audiences. He sang "Little White Poplar", "Emei Restaurant", "Speak From My Heart", "Songs One, Two, Three and Four", "When I Feel Homesick", "Goodbye Veteran", "The True Colors of a Soldier", "Oriental" Songs such as "Sun, Moon in the East", "Long Live the Motherland", "We Under the Military Flag" were widely circulated among the troops and the masses.
Yan Weiwen has recorded ten boxes of solo albums, and has contributed to "The Last Emperor", "Legend of Hai Lantern", "Yang Naiwu and Xiaobaicai", "Countries of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty", "Master Hongyi", "Red" "Cross Square", "Guo Lanying", "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom" and other dozens of movies and TV series have recorded theme songs and interludes.

Yan Weiwen has won many awards in vocal music competitions held across the country and the army. In 1988, he won the first place in the professional group of the National Singing Group of the Third National Young Singer Television Grand Prix. In 1999, he won the first prize for singing in the All-Army Art Performance. In 1990, he won the title of the Top Ten National Film and Television Singers. In 1992, he won the China "Golden Record" Award. He was rated as the number one favorite singer by the national audience for two years in five years. In 1995, he won the gold medal in the National Music Television Competition. In the 2001 National MTV Music Television Competition, he sang a song with Tong Tiexin and Lu Jihong. "Chinese March" won the gold medal.
