The tools and means used in Kodaly's teaching method are: the first tune roll-call, gesture notes and rhythm roll-call.
1. First tune roll-call method. The first-tone roll-call method uses a series of bytes as the roll-call —doremifasolasido, while do is regarded as the tonic in all major, and la is the tonic in all minor. The first-tone roll-call method is unparalleled in training the ear of music, because from the beginning, it pays attention not to the specific pitch, but to the relationship between pitches and the role played by a sound in a system.
2. Gesture notes. If the first-tone roll-call method is helpful for tonality memory, then the combination of the first-tone roll-call method and gesture notes will make tonality memory faster and more consolidated, and at the same time, this gesture note is intuitive and interesting. It is helpful for students to cultivate the concept of pitch by expressing the voiced pitch with this silent gesture.
3, rhythm roll call. In Kodaly's teaching method, rhythm is a series of bytes which are invented by rhythm and Chevy in 18 and still used in the French Conservatory of Music. These bytes are not names, but only pictophonetic words. Different rhythms have their own different bytes. This rhythm singing method is helpful for students to cultivate the concept of musical duration.
Kodaly's teaching method is combined with active music activities. Singing tour, dancing, folk songs, art songs, chorus, chorus, cannon and melody chorus are all quoted from the theme fragments of great instrumental works, so this is a fertile ground. The ultimate goal of learning musical concepts and practicing musical skills from them is to tap all the musical senses inherent in each nation.
