Anhui University has a music department, which belongs to the School of Art of Anhui University.

The School of Art of Anhui University was established in the 1990s. After more than ten years of teaching construction, reform and development, it has rich experience in running schools and good conditions for running schools. In 2000, it began to recruit undergraduate students majoring in art design, and in 2003, it joined hands with the Department of Philosophy to recruit postgraduate students for master's degrees in painting aesthetics. The School of Art has four departments: Design, Fine Arts, Drama, and Music. It has four undergraduate majors, including art design, painting, music performance, and directing, and nine professional directions. Relying on the advantages of a comprehensive university and adhering to the educational concept of "people-oriented, all-round development", in order to adapt to the development of the times and market needs, the college has reformed the relevant teaching content and methods to cultivate comprehensive qualities for all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical and aesthetics. The employment situation of graduates is good and they are well received by employers. In 2004, the employment rate of the first undergraduate graduates reached 100%.
