Singer Li Guyi first included this song in the album Why Flowers Are So Red in 1984. Li Guyi, born in Yunnan on November 1th, 1944, is a famous singing artist and national first-class actor in China. Li Guyi is a pioneering figure in the Chinese music scene after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and he initiated popular singing in China. His contribution can only be compared with that of Teresa Teng, the queen of Chinese music. In 1988, she was included in the "World Outstanding Persons" by the American Biography Association. In 1996, he was awarded the "World Artist Achievement Award" by ABI Association of America. Li Guyi was originally a flower drum performer in Hunan, and later transferred to the Central Orchestra as a soloist. More than 4 songs she sang were widely circulated at home and abroad, such as "bosom friend", "nostalgia", "frontier spring water is clear and pure" and "sister looking for elder brother's tears". In 1986, she founded and headed the China Light Music Orchestra.
