Xiaoxinganling
is located in the northeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, China. It is connected to Yilhuri Mountain in the northwest and to the Songhua River in the southeast, with a length of about 500 kilometers. Northwest-southeast direction. The mountain is low and gentle, with an altitude of 600 to 1,000 meters. The main peak is Pingding Mountain, with an altitude of 1,429 meters. The two sides of the watershed are asymmetrical, with the southwest slope being gentle and long, and the northeast slope being steep and short. The southeastern section mainly exposes granite and metamorphic rocks, which is a long-term uplift and denudation area. Tertiary continental sediments are widely distributed in the northwest section. At the end of the Tertiary Period and the beginning of the Quaternary Period, it was uplifted along the northeast and northwest faults and connected with the southeast. At the same time, there was an accompanying basalt eruption. A large basalt platform is preserved in the Xunhe River Basin on the northeast side of the Xiaoxing'an Mountains, and there is the Wudalianchi volcano group near Dedu on the southeast side. There were still volcanic eruptions until 1719 and 1921. It is one of the main forest areas in China. The northwest is dominated by Xing'an larch and white birch, while the southeast is dominated by Korean pine, fish scale pine, smelly pine, ash, and linden trees. There is a railway leading to Wuyiling, Yichun City.
