1. Character introduction:
Gu Jianfen (1935-) is a famous contemporary female composer. His ancestral home is Weihai City, Shandong Province, and he was born in Osaka, Japan. Her parents went to Japan in the early 1930s to make a living. After the Japanese imperialists launched a war of aggression against China, Gu Jianfen and his family set foot on the motherland for the first time in 1941.
Since she was a child, Gu Jianfen had a hazy feeling that singing brought her something so beautiful. Sometimes she felt that singing brought her an indescribable sadness, and the music seemed to be her Indispensable in life. Therefore, when Gu Jianfen grew up, he never left music.
In 1950, Gu Jianfen was admitted to the Art Troupe of Luda University as a piano accompanist. In 1952, he entered Northeast Music College (now Shenyang Conservatory of Music), majoring in composition, and studied under Huo Cunhui, Ji Ming and others. After graduating in 1955, he was assigned to the Central Song and Dance Ensemble (now the China Song and Dance Ensemble), mainly engaged in dance music creation.

A series of Gu Jianfen's works have spread like wildfire since the early 1980s and have been warmly welcomed by the audience. She has created a large number of popular works that have become part of the contemporary Chinese song creation classics, and nearly a hundred of them have won awards.
