Muse is not one person, but the collective name of nine goddesses of literature and art in Greek mythology.

Muses: Nine goddesses of literature and art, the daughters of the great god Zeus and the goddess of memory Mnemosyne.

They were born and lived on the slopes of Pieria in the foothills of Olympus. They were originally goddesses of mountain springs, and later became goddesses of literature, art and science, and combined music with Apollo, the god of poetry, served as their leader.
