China How many levels are you required to take the piano exam? Introduction to piano grading knowledge

Take the National Music Association’s piano grading exam as an example. Each level must test four skills (all four are compulsory exams, so there is no question of whether practicing a piece of music can lead to a grade) In addition, the repertoire is specially designated, you can only choose from it, there is no escape):

1. Basic skills: your ability to play scales and arpeggios is required to be tested. As the level increases, The sharp and flat marks gradually increase (6 sharps or 6 flats in the 10th grade test), and the speed of scales and arpeggios gradually increases (the 10th grade scale requires playing 144 quarter notes per minute, that is, 516 sixteenth notes, which is equivalent to 8.6 notes per second), the length and difficulty of the scales and arpeggios will gradually increase, with the hands moving one octave in the same direction and finally the hands moving four octaves in the opposite direction.

2. Etude: It is the one that can best test your playing level. If you are learning piano systematically, you can use the level of etudes you have learned so far to test which level you are in line with. One level.

3. Polyphonic music: Piano exams pay special attention to the ability to play multi-part polyphonic music. Polyphonic music is basically based on Bach's works, starting from Bach's "Minor Preludes and Fu From his two and three creative pieces to the most difficult "Twelve Well-Tempered Clavier Pieces" (basically each song has three or four parts).

The foundation of polyphonic playing must be laid well. This item mainly tests the control of your hands.

4. Music (mainly small pieces). Taking into account the time factor of the exam (maximum fifteen minutes for each person), the music for the exam is mostly small works (the ratio between Chinese and foreign students is roughly the same) ), and the styles are also very diverse. This item mainly tests your musical expression.
