This piece is played on a Chinese bamboo flute.

Shaanbei Four Chapters is a multi-movement flute concerto based on the folk music style of northwest China. This work attempts to use a simple folk melody style and contemporary "stylized" writing techniques to express thoughts on ancient western Chinese folk music, so it is played with a Chinese bamboo flute.
