Extended information:
"Popular Radio Gymnastics" consists of 8 sections of freehand gymnastics, with a total duration of 4 minutes and 45 seconds. It takes "scientific simplicity, popularization and practicality, adaptability to local conditions, fitness, and fun" as its principles and highlights the style of "health, joy, and the times". On March 23, 2005, the State Sports General Administration held a press conference to promote "Popular Radio Gymnastics" nationwide.
Radio gymnastics is a fitness activity with Chinese characteristics that is deeply loved by the masses. From 1951 to 1997, my country launched 8 sets of radio gymnastics. Recently, the unit organized and studied the newly created "Popular Broadcasting Gymnastics". Although it is not listed as the ninth set of broadcasting gymnastics, its launch marks the birth of my country's first set of modern broadcasting gymnastics in the new century. In my mind, I spent the simple and hard-working student days with the eighth set of radio gymnastics.
