Wang Xiaoling and Ren Yuan wrote lyrics and Wang Liping composed music. In order to cooperate with TV films to reflect the new features of Dalian after the reform and opening up, the song music adopts a relaxed and lively lyric form. It was first sung by the male quartet of the Central Orchestra and soon spread all over the country. The songs have been published in many newspapers and periodicals, and have been included in the collection of "5 Chinese and foreign male quartets" edited by People's Music Publishing House, which has become the reserved repertoire of many male quartets.
Yang Huanli, Wu Qihui, Wang Shiguang and Jia Zongchang, the earliest male quartet in China, can be called THE BROTHERS FOUR of China, and Wang Liping's works are excellent.
