1. Guqin

Guqin, also known as Yaoqin, Jade Qin and Lyre, is a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument with a history of more than three thousand years and is one of the eight tones. Guqin has a wide sound range, deep timbre and long lingering sound. Chinese guqin culture has a long history. Traditional Chinese culture believes that there are five stars in the sky, five elements on the ground, and five sounds in the world.

There are seven strings on the piano surface from the outside to the inside, ranging from thick to thin. In ancient times, the strings were made of silk, but today they are mostly made of steel strings. The sound of the guqin is very unique. When listening to the music, you can feel the tranquility and distance of the guqin. "Quietness" can be said to be the biggest characteristic of the piano sound. The piano sound is also called the "sound of ancient times" and the "sound of heaven and earth". The word "quiet" here also has two meanings. One is that playing the piano requires a quiet environment, and the other is that playing the piano requires a quiet state of mind.

There are more than 3,360 guqin tunes in existence, more than 130 guqin scores, and 300 guqin songs. On November 7, 2003, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee announced that the Chinese guqin was selected as a world cultural heritage. In 2006, it was included in China's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Legend has it that Emperor Yan discovered music by "milling millet and setting the yellow bell" at the foot of Yangtou Mountain in Jingfeng, Qinyuan. Emperor Yan Shennong also "cut tung trees into qin and rope silk into strings" and created the original qin.

2. Guqin selection and precautions

1. Guqin requires strings that can be pointed down, which means that the strings should not be too high from the surface. Strings that are too high are called anti-fingering, which will affect The method of playing the piano may even tire out the fingers. In terms of the position of Qihui, the distance between the strings and the surface of the piano should be 0.5 cm. Too low will easily produce scratchy or sandy sounds, and the open strings may hit the surface of the piano. Generally speaking, the string resistance is too high unless the mountain is too high.

2. The guqin has very high requirements for indoor temperature and humidity. Its panel is carved from a single piece of wood. Each place has its own humidity and climate. If not properly maintained, the guqin will deform or become deformed. If there are cracks, you must not get too close to the heater in dry northern cities. In short, when taking care of your guqin, you should pay attention to prevent it from being exposed to moisture and bumping outside.
