The High School Affiliated to Xi'an Conservatory of Music ranks above the middle level among the nine high schools affiliated to conservatories of music. It is an important base for delivering outstanding students to Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Central Conservatory of Music, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The attached middle school is located in the south teaching building, adjacent to the training college. Over the decades since its establishment, the school has provided thousands of musical talents to the country and the Conservatory of Music’s undergraduate departments, including famous violinists such as violinist Li Yibin (who later studied at the Juilliard School), musicologist Qiao Jianzhong (Chinese Art Studies Pianist Wang Bin, former director of the Academy of Music Research Institute, etc.
The Affiliated Middle School of Xi'an Conservatory of Music is divided into junior high school and high school. It specializes in composition, folk music, orchestral music and piano. For example, Wu Yuchong, a student from the Affiliated Middle School, has done well in recent years and has won first place and sixth place in the CCTV Piano and Violin Competition. Second place in the International Youth Tchaikovsky Music Competition.
As for the dormitories, the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Conservatory of Music and the university are on the same campus, and so are the dormitories, which are together with the university dormitories.
