Music boxes are mainly wooden boxes and movements, so the maintenance is similar to other wooden antiques and mechanical antiques.

I have also collected some music boxes for more than a hundred years. My experience after painful lessons is summarized as follows: the temperature and humidity should not be too high to avoid rusting, and the humidity should not be too low to avoid drying and cracking of wood. Put some clock oil on the music box movement once a year, and make the music box work normally several times a month. In any case, don't touch the movement directly, you really need to wear gloves.
