In 1963, he graduated from the Guzheng major of the Folk Music Department of Guangzhou Music College and stayed at the school to teach. He has successively served as an assistant teacher at Guangzhou Music College and Guangdong Art College, a lecturer at Guangdong People's Art College and Guangzhou Conservatory of Music, and an associate professor and professor at Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
Chen Anhua has been influenced by Chaozhou music since childhood and has a profound foundation in folk music. From 1958 to 1960, he joined the Chao'anbu Amateur Han Opera Troupe (formerly the "Yong Nishang" Confucian Music Society founded in the late Qing Dynasty), learned Chinese opera singing and dulcimer playing, was inspired by Mr. Wu Siming's guzheng, and later was taught by a Chaozheng master. Mr. Chen Huiwu (also known as Chen Shizhe).
After entering the music college, he studied under Mr. Luo Jiuxiang, a Hakka guzheng master, and learned guzheng music from Mr. Cao Zheng, a contemporary guzheng master who came to Guangdong to collect music, such as "Fishing Boats Sing Evening", "High Mountains and Flowing Waters", and "Tian Xia Tong". In addition to receiving systematic music education, he also studied piano, erhu, violin, accordion and bel canto singing. He learned music nutrition and performance theory from them and laid a solid foundation for the standardized teaching of guzheng in the future. When I returned home during the holidays, I often consulted Chaozheng masters Xiao Yunge and Xu Disheng, and I benefited a lot.
After graduating from a music college, he stayed in school. While recording and organizing Lingnan zheng music, he learned Chaozhou zheng art from Mr. Su Wenxian, a master of Chaozhou zheng. In 1964, he went to Shenyang Conservatory of Music for further studies, where he learned Lu style zither music and composed zither music from Mr. Zhao Yuzhai. Before and after going to Shenzhou, Chen Anhua made two special trips to Zhengzhou to learn Yu-style zheng music from Mr. Ren Qingzhi and Cao Dongfu respectively, which enabled Chen Anhua to combine the northern and southern styles of zheng music. In his youth, he was active on the Yangcheng stage and represented the country as a soloist in important concerts many times. He was once received by Premier Zhou Enlai. His solo program was made into a movie by Pearl Film in 1974. In addition, he often provides music for movies and TV series. In 1986, he was invited to perform and lecture at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts; in 1988, he was invited to hold the first "China Southern Guzheng Concert" in history with Mr. Lin Maogen and Lin Liubo at the Hong Kong City Hall. In the same year, Chen Anhua's solo album was recorded and published by China Record Guangzhou Company. The first domestic guzheng CD album "Chinese Guzheng Music". "Yangcheng Evening News", "Guangzhou Daily" and "Southern Metropolis Daily" published articles introducing Chen Anhua with the titles of "Guzheng Wonders", "Guzheng Famous Masters" and "Southern Zheng King" respectively. He is the author of "Chinese Lingnan Zheng Score" and Chaozhou Zheng Music Selection "Icing on the Cake" (cooperated with Mr. Lin Maogen). In 2004, he was the editor-in-chief of "Lotus Emerging from the Water, Fragrance Floating across Nine Continents - Anthology in Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Mr. Luo Jiuxiang"; in 2008, he wrote and edited the "Foreword" for "Mr. He Song Plays Hakka Zheng Music" (published by People's Music Publishing House); 2008 In 2010, he published "A Essay on the Origin of "Hakka Zheng School"" (published by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Press) and served as deputy editor.
Published more than 100,000 words of professional papers, and published more than ten kinds of personal solo albums and teaching albums such as CDs, VCDs, LPs, and audio tapes. From 1975 to 1980, he cooperated with Shantou Musical Instrument Factory to successfully develop a 36-string heptatonic modified zither. In the same year, it was well received at the Beijing Music Reform Conference (no award was awarded).
The first founder to propose the establishment of the "Lingnan Guzheng School". Since 1986, he has served as a member of the preparatory committee, organizing committee and academic committee of the first, second, third and fourth National Guzheng Academic Exchange Conference; deputy director of the expert committee of the International Guzheng Art Symposium; director of the Shantou Folk Music Flower Festival Jury; national-level folk music Deputy director and judges of the competition judging committee and judges of the provincial advanced technical qualification music discipline. In 1999, 2001, and 2004, he held Hakka Han music concerts and guzheng special concerts at Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore and Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangdong Province, which were great successes.
Chen Anhua is rigorous in his studies, has comprehensive skills, is good at discovering the strengths of others, and is eclectic. I have been teaching guzheng for 40 years, and my students have traveled to more than ten countries and regions. Many students have won awards in domestic and international competitions, and some have held solo concerts at home and abroad. For more than ten years, it has been committed to popularizing guzheng education in society and cultivated a number of outstanding performers. For example, 13-year-old Ren Fei held the "Ren Fei Guzheng Solo Concert" performed by the Central Opera and Ballet Theater Symphony Orchestra at the Beijing Concert Hall in May 1998, becoming the youngest musician ever to perform at the Beijing Concert Hall. Disciple Li Wei, who now lives in Canada, was nominated for the 51st Grammy Music Awards, making traditional Lingnan Zheng music work enter the attention of top international music awards for the first time.
In recent years, Chen Anhua has conducted music assessments for the society on behalf of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society, China Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music, etc. Chen Anhua’s long-term teaching practice, research and accumulation have gradually established a theoretical, systematic and scientific teaching system. As the successor and representative of Nanzheng, he is working hard to advocate, establish and establish the "Lingnan Guzheng School".
