After a few months of birth, children don't go to class, look up dictionaries, read grammar and rhetoric books, just listen and talk with adults, and they will say a word and a half, and they will never say "by car" as "by car". How can this happen? Just because of familiarity. Learning composition is also learning language, although this language is not completely equivalent to spoken language. Written language is also a language, so the method of learning language is applicable to learning composition. For example, what kind of words should be used to express a meaning, the meaning is more complicated, and how to link sentences. It is natural and good to say that there are rules to follow, but if you pick up a pen and actually write, you can't consult the rules first, but listen to the common expression habits you are familiar with. This habit is formed by repeated "familiarity", and familiarity comes from reading and writing more. As the saying goes, it's a joke, "a great copy of the articles of the ages", and it's quite reasonable to read other people's articles to learn expression methods. A meaning can be expressed in more than one way (words and their organization), but no matter which one, it is drawn or detached from the framework used by predecessors. If you don't read, or if you are unfamiliar with it, if you are interesting, the available expression framework is blank, and it is difficult to pick up a pen. With both content to write and familiarity with how to express it, the difficulty of composition will naturally disappear. In this way, is it ok to read more and not write more? As far as I know, some people are highly cultivated in reading, but they don't write easily or occasionally, as if they are quite proficient in kung fu.
