Fan Shengqi's resume

Fan Shengqi is a famous Chinese saxophonist.

Fan Shengqi was born in Shandong in 1933. He came to Harbin with his family when he was 6 years old, and lived with his aunt and uncle since childhood. This great-aunt, who could not read a word, loved Peking Opera, opera and other art forms very much. Fan Shengqi often went to theaters and concert halls with his aunt since he was a child, and was influenced by art for the first time. When he was 12 years old, his aunt bought a saxophone for Xiao Shengqi's eldest brother and a violin for his second brother. Later, the eldest brother joined the army and left, leaving Saxophone to Fan Shengqi.

My great-aunt also found an old Russian man to teach little Shengqi the saxophone. In 1990, Fan Shengqi went to the United States for inspection and lectures. There, he performed his own arrangements of "Butterfly Lovers", "Axi Dances in the Moon", "Er Quan Ying Yue" and other music for American friends, which immediately caused a sensation. Major newspapers in the United States rushed to report on him, calling him a "real musician" who performed "oriental jazz".

Fan Shengqi’s beliefs:

1. Fan Shengqi has long gray curly hair and bright eyes, revealing the freedom and perseverance of an artist. He has fair hair and a childish face, and is very eloquent. Just by listening to his voice, you will feel that he is still a young man. Fan Shengqi once said: "I regard music as my belief and use music to express my inner language." Once, when he played "Girl's Prayer", he injected religious color into the music, giving people a sense of sacredness and selflessness. Such a feeling that all five girls present were moved to tears.

2. Fan Shengqi has very strong national self-esteem. He had been playing Western classical music earlier, but then he thought, I am an Easterner, I also need to play Eastern music. He said: "I want to follow the Chinese path, develop China's national music that has been handed down for thousands of years as a kind of material, use world and modern chord language and counterpoint techniques to transform Chinese modes and transform them into Towards world-class status.”
