Daur folk songs basically use four modes of Gong, Yu, Shang and Zheng with five tones. Most of them are short and pithy, with clear sentences and square structure, and most of them are in four sentences. Folk songs composed of two sentences often repeat the next sentence, and the repeated sentences often use lining words. Slow vibrato is commonly used in singing. Especially in the long notes at the end of the phrase, the vibrato starts slowly and speeds up continuously, and the tune is usually closed with a falling sound. The folk musical instruments commonly used by Daur people are Kouxian, Zhugu and Wailing Bell, but also Sihu and Sanxian instruments.
