Luo Dayou, the "godfather of Chinese pop music", was born in a family of doctors. He graduated from the Department of Medicine of the private China Medical College (now China Medical University in Taiwan) and worked as a radiologist in a hospital. Following family tradition and his father's expectations, 18-year-old Luo Dayou was admitted to the School of Medicine in 1972 and began his seven-year medical study. After entering college, Luo Dayou still insisted on his love for music. He and his classmates formed a choir called "ROCKERS".
Luo Dayou's songs are sharp and sharp. Some people say that he is "the scalpel that dissects society", which is a double entendre. It was not until 1994 that he entered "composer" in the "occupation" column. Before that, he had always written "doctor". Recommend Luo Dayou's works "Love Song 1990", "Orphans of Asia" and "Future Master". Of course, what cannot be forgotten is his "Pearl of the Orient".
In 1980, Luo Dayou graduated from the School of Medicine and obtained a medical license. He recorded the album "Zhihu Zheye". Songs such as "Love Song 1980", "Childhood", and "The Story of Time" in this album are still long-lasting songs in the Chinese music scene. In 1983, Luo Dayou released his second album "Future Master". This is still a profound work full of reflections on the times. Even today, it still does not seem outdated. In 1984, Luo Dayou, who was in his thirties, released his third album "Home".
In 2017, fans finally waited for Luo Dayou's eighth solo album "Home III". In the "Home" album 33 years ago, Luo Dayou wrote "Home I" and "Home II" ”, he sang songs about home back then, but there was a hint of depression in and out of the song.
