Early Years (2001-2004)

In 2001, Code, Zeist, Troy and Jin established the Suncatcher Band in Keelung, Taiwan, and produced their first demo three months later,* **Contains 3 songs, the style at this time is more melodic black metal.

In 2002, he performed for the first time at Taiwan's large music festival - Ye Tai Kai. In the same year, he also served as the opening guest at Taiwan's Metal Eternal Life event featuring Dark Funeral and The Shining's 7th Birthday Concert. At this time the members were only nineteen years old.

In 2003, bassist Edward replaced Jin, and also joined guitarist Chaos. In April, he performed at the Spring Scream Music Festival in Kenting, Taiwan.

Single "Blood-Stained Sun" (2004-2005)

On March 26, 2004, Sunset independently released its first single "Blood-stained Sun" , and then began a year-long tour in Taiwan. Until the Megatron Metal Domination event at the end of 2005, Huari gradually gained a fixed fan base. In the same year, he was invited to appear on Taiwan's famous talk show "The Coming of Kangxi". Although the performance on the show that day increased Huanri's popularity, some people believed that being on the show did not meet the dark and serious image that black metal should have, so there were polarized reviews.

Preparing the Album and Announcement of Disbandment (2006-2007)

In early 2006, Huanri started to create the first album "Blooded Again". This time the members decided to go far away Europe, headed to Sweden to record at Studio Fredman. Since it was an independent production, the lack of funds and the difficulty in scheduling the recording studio caused the start of recording to be delayed repeatedly. This period was the most difficult period for them. The members raised funds everywhere, and some members even used their homes to borrow money from banks. At the same time, differences among the group members began to arise regarding the direction of creation. After several communications, Huanri's division still has not come to an end, but has intensified.

Finally, in February 2007, Chaos, Edward and even Code, the creative soul, all asked to leave. The remaining members Troy and Zeist were confused about the future of the band, and Sunset announced its disbandment.

The first album and breakthrough of "Blooded Again" (2007-2009)

In March 2007, all original plans were suspended for a month. , Troy and Zeist decided to retrieve the Code. During the coordination process, they received a letter from Sweden's Studio Fredman recording studio confirming the recording schedule, which made the three of them decide to restart the recording plan, and luckily found bassist Ken. The new Sunset took shape and went to Sweden as a four-person team in June to collaborate with Fredrik Nordström to record "Bloody Returns".

On July 21, 2007, after nearly five years of preparation, Sunset finally returned to their fans with their first official album "Return in Blood". After the album launch, the reinterpreted single "Snake Corpse" and the MVs for "Blood Marriage" and "Broken Soul Record" were well received by music fans. What followed was a series of tour performances, including the Wild Stage Music Festival, which expanded its venue to the Zhongshan Football Stadium for the first time, and the Dagang Music Festival in Kaohsiung.

At this time, the exclusive recording studio jointly owned by Huri members was also officially opened.

At the end of 2007, Sunri's music territory began to expand to Asia, with six performances in five places from Kanto to Kansai (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe) in Japan, until In early 2008, he was invited to Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore to participate in local music festivals. After more than a year of fighting around, they have established a reputation in Asia, and even the revised version of "Bloodline" has been sold.

In mid-2008, Huri participated in the heavy metal compilation album planned by Ultimate Music, the agency to which he belonged at the time, and included two songs. At the end of the same year, he participated in the album "From the Seven Kingdoms" planned by the same company. *Ultimate Metal Fest, which featured more than a dozen bands, and Sunset’s tour also came to an end at this time.

The single "Manzhu Shahua" and getting through the downturn (2009-2011)

In January 2009, Huan Ri returned to the studio to start preparing for the recording of his second album, but At this time, bassist Ken decided to leave due to personal reasons. During the period of searching for new members, the members became busy with their own lives and other work, and gradually became indifferent to the band's affairs. Sunset is facing a low ebb, and new works are far away.

At the end of 2009, new bass player Siniz joined. The addition of new members gradually made the low point disappear, and was replaced by the reunification of the band members.

In the spring of 2010, Huanri began recording new works. At this time, Huan Ri decided to produce a song that was different from the majestic feel of "Return to Blood" and presented a new look in the form of a single.

The new single "Manzhu Shahua" was released on August 13, 2010. Compared with the mania and violence of previous works, "Manzhu Shahua" is more feminine and depressive. During this period, he participated in the 2010 Rock Taiwan Folk Band Festival, the 2011 Spring Scream Music Festival, and in June 2011, he embarked on a tenth tour of more than 3,000 kilometers in mainland China from Hong Kong to Inner Mongolia.

At the end of 2011, five years after the first album, Sunset began to produce its second official album.
