As we all know, the United States is a big country in the world, but when it comes to history and culture, it can only be regarded as a weak country. We know that after the founding of the United States, the population composition is still dominated by British immigrants, as well as immigrants from other countries from all over Europe. This makes America a veritable melting pot of nations. Therefore, in music, it is inevitable to be influenced by mainstream music from Europe.
When the Boston Conservatory of Music was founded in 1832, Americans really began to find their own music. By the 19th century, five important composers appeared in the United States, such as Henry Xu, Frey, Bristol, Gao Shake and the famous Foster. They were the first generation of important composers in the United States. Then came the second generation of American musicians. They incorporated the romantic music style into their works, especially in the later period, which obviously excluded the influence of German music.
