North Korean traditional music or Korean traditional music is divided into two types: folk music and court music.
Korean court music is the music played for the royal family and nobles of the Korean peninsula in ancient times, including Yale, Yule and Tang music. Among them, Yagaku was introduced from China; Nagaku was the local music of the Korean Peninsula; Tang music was originally introduced by Silla from the Tang Dynasty court, and was later integrated with the local music of the Korean Peninsula. The ancestral temple ritual music is included in the representative list of human intangible cultural heritage together with the ancestral temple ritual music as Joseon court music.
