China Dance Association

An organization established in Beijing in July 1949

Chinese Dancers Associaton, formerly known as the All-China Dance Workers Association , Chinese Dance Art Research Association, Chinese Dance Workers Association) were established in Beijing in July 1949 and have a history of 56 years. The Chinese Dance Association is a professional people's organization formed voluntarily by dance artists of all ethnic groups in China. It serves as a bridge and link between the party and the government to connect dancers and dance workers. It is a group member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. The Chinese Dance Association draws on expert committees nationwide in dance performance, choreography, theory, education, editing, management and mass dance organization activities. It has 35 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities dance associations and industrial literary and art dance associations across the country. There are more than 5,000 individual members nationwide.

The National Dance Academy is part of AFAM (Advanced Educational Institution for Art and Music, which brings together the Conservatory of Music, the Academy of Art, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Drama, etc.), which aims to train dancers, choreographers and teachers. In addition to teaching traditional techniques of dance, the academy also teaches modern techniques.
