Adjectives
Adjectives are descriptive words used to describe the nature or characteristics of things, such as size, color, shape, etc. An adjective is usually placed before a noun to modify the noun it describes. For example, "beautiful" is an adjective, and the "beautiful" in "a beautiful flower" is used to modify the noun "flower".
Nouns
Nouns refer to concrete or abstract things such as people, things, objects or concepts. Nouns can serve as the subject, object, complement or attributive of a sentence. For example, "cat" (cat) is a noun. In the sentence "The cat is sleeping on the table" (the cat is sleeping on the table), "cat" is the subject.
Pronouns
Pronouns are words used to replace nouns. Using pronouns can make sentences more concise and clear. For example, "he" (him) and "she" (her) are commonly used pronouns that can replace specific names of people, such as "I saw Jack and Jill, and they were talking" (I saw Jack and Jill, they were talking) ) in "they" replaces "Jack" and "Jill".
Prepositions
Prepositions are connective words used to express relationships between concepts such as position, direction, time, etc. Prepositions are often used with nouns or pronouns to form a prepositional phrase. For example, "in" (in) is a preposition. In "The book is on the table" (the book is on the table), "on" is a preposition indicating a positional relationship.
Conjunctions
Conjunctions are words used to connect words, phrases, and sentences. They can connect parallel components, emphasize, turn, and progress. For example, common conjunctions such as "and" (and), "but" (but), and "or" (or).
Articles
Articles are defining words before nouns, including the indefinite article "a/an" and the definite article "the". Articles can help us distinguish whether the speaker knows or mentioned the noun, or indicate the scope to which the noun belongs. For example, the "a" in "a book" is the indefinite article, and the "the" in "the book" is the definite article.
