"Yun Gong Xun Yin", also known as "Journey to the West Overture", was composed by composer Xu Jingqing and was created in 1986. There is no clear record of the performing orchestra.

In the spring of 1985, the crew received news that CCTV would broadcast 16 episodes of "Journey to the West" during the 1986 Spring Festival. In November 2018, Xu Jingqing, the chief composer of the 1986 version of the TV series "Journey to the West", infringed the authorship rights and works Beijing Maitian Film Culture Media Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems Co., Ltd. were brought to court on the grounds of disputes over information network dissemination rights.
