Lu Siqing was born in 1969 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. He began to learn violin at the age of 4. At the age of 8, he was admitted to the Primary School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Professor Wang Zhenshan. At the age of 11, he was selected by Yehudi Menuhin to study at the Genius Music School founded by Yehudi Menuhin in the UK. In 1984, he returned to China to continue his studies. At the age of 19, he went to the Juilliard School of Music in New York for further studies, studying under Professor Drohi Delay and Mr. Jiang Kang.

Performing experience

In 1992, he performed four concerts at the Aspen International Music Festival in the United States, and was specially reported by the New York Times and The Strad, a British music magazine. .

In January 1993, he was invited to be the soloist on the Central Orchestra’s historic first tour to Taiwan. In August of the same year, he brought piano player Xu Feiping and soprano singer Zhu Xiaoqiang who were traveling to the United States to perform for the "Project Hope" benefit in Beijing.

In June 1994, he was invited to be the soloist at the founding concert of the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra. In September of the same year, he was invited to be the soloist at the inaugural concert of the China Symphony Development Foundation.

In January 1995, he was invited to participate in the first New Year's Concert of CCTV. In 1996, he successfully held his own "Music Week" in Beijing and became the first Chinese violinist to participate in this event.
