Yanle, also known as banquet music, is music played at banquets. It is usually played at palace banquets, mainly for the people at the banquet (the emperor, concubines, etc. in the palace, and ministers) to provide a way to entertain and appreciate their time.
The court Yan music of the Sui and Tang Dynasties concentratedly reflected the highest achievements of music culture in this period. It originated from the continuous accumulation of traditional music of the Han nationality and the foreign music introduced since the Han and Wei dynasties. It is essentially the music of my country's feudal society. The essence of culture is an inevitable product based on long-term accumulation and catalyzed by certain political, economic and social conditions.
Yan music includes a variety of music forms, such as vocal music, instrumental music, dance, opera, etc. Among them, singing and dancing music occupied the most important position in the Yan music of Sui and Tang Dynasties. Large-scale songs and dances with multiple sections are called Daqu, which had outstanding artistic achievements in the Yan music of the Tang Dynasty.
The differences between Qing Yue, Ya Yue and Yan Yue:
1. Qing Yue: refers to Qing Shang music, also known as Qing Shang music. A traditional music that was dominant at the time.
The Qingyue mode is based on the pentatonic scale by adding Qingjiao and Biangong. Also known as the new scale or the lower scale. The composition of its musical scale is: Gong, Shang, Jiao, Qingjiao, Zheng, Yu, Bian Gong.
2. Yale: Elegant and pure music, it is a kind of traditional palace music in ancient times. It refers to the music used in grand ceremonies such as imperial congratulations and sacrifices to heaven and earth. Gagaku is a very formal ceremonial music.
The Yayue mode is based on the pentatonic scale by adding Bianzheng and Biangong. Also known as the orthophonic scale or the ancient scale. The composition of its scale is: Gong, Shang, Jiao, Bian Zheng, Zheng, Yu, Bian Gong.
3. Yanle: It is a kind of entertainment music. Yan music comes from the continuous accumulation of Han traditional music and the large-scale import of foreign music since the Han and Wei dynasties. The Hu music from the Western Regions merged with the original Han music, mainly Qing Shang music, to create a new kind of music. Music Yanle.
The Yanle mode is formed by adding clear corners and leaps on the basis of the pentatonic scale. Also known as the Qing Shang scale or the popular music scale. The composition of its musical scale is: Gong, Shang, Jiao, Qingjiao, Zheng, Yu, Leap, Gong.
