In September 2014, a new nine-year consistent middle school, Urumqi 114 Middle School, was opened in Midong District, based on the basic principle of "exam-free, nearby and designated" admissions.

Except for "Hua'er", Hui folk songs and other folk songs that are sung daily basically belong to the category of minor tunes. Minor tunes are roughly divided into banquet songs, folk custom songs, life tunes, folk narrative songs and other types.
