Xia Jia

Born in 1974. At the age of twelve, he entered the primary school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music and then went to university. In 1995, he began to study and teach himself jazz. In September 1999, he was admitted to the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York, USA, to study jazz piano performance under the tutelage of Harold Danko. Graduated in May 2004 with a bachelor's degree. In 2001, he performed at the JVC INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL in New York and performed music composed by himself. In the same year, he participated in THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF JAZZ EDUCATORS CONFERENCE held in New York and performed with the famous four-person singing group New York Voices. In January 2001, the first original album of Xia Jia Trio was recorded. Xia Jia Trio Band

In October 2003, the teaching VCD "Jazz Piano Improvisation Tutorial" was published. In January 2004, he recorded his first original album.
