Allusions and uses in "Sichuan Embroidery"
1. Furong City rained heavily in March
"Furong City" in ancient my country was a reference to Chengdu, Sichuan It is also known as "Jinguan City". During the reign of Meng Chang, King of Shu after the Five Dynasties, he planted hibiscus poles all over the city wall, making Chengdu "forty miles of beauty", so Chengdu is also known as "Hibiscus City" and "Rongcheng".
"It rains heavily in March" coincides with Du Mu's "Qingming", "It rains heavily during the Qingming Festival, and pedestrians on the road want to lose their souls." Qingming Festival was also called March Festival in ancient times. Du Fu also wrote a poem "Joyful Rain on a Spring Night", "Looking at the red and wet place at dawn, the flowers are heavy in the official city". Refers to Jinli in Chengdu. Shu Brocade is a major specialty of Chengdu and has a long history. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, the imperial court set up a special management organization "Jinguan" in Chengdu. Its official office was on the bank of the "Liujiang" in the southeast of Chengdu. This is where later generations called Chengdu "Jinguan City".
“It rains heavily in Furong City in March, and embroidery needles are used in April.” My understanding: Chengdu is located in the southwest, humid and rainy. From March to April, the fine raindrops are like needlework in the hand, setting off the embroidery. My mother’s sad and delicate thoughts.
2. The feather fan points to a few inches of the brocade cut in the Thousand Army Formation
"The feather fan and silk scarf, while talking and laughing, the oars and oars disappeared into ashes." Su Shi's "Niannujiao·Red Cliff Nostalgic"
p>
The allusion here is Zhuge Liang. There is Wuhou Temple in Chengdu, which is a temple that commemorates the emperor Liu Bei of the Shu Han Dynasty and the prime minister Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China. Next to it, there is a workshop displaying Shu embroidery in Jinli.
"The feather fan points to the formation of thousands of troops in the distance, and the brocade is cut a few inches." My understanding: This sentence highlights the situation in the poem: the war is tense in the front, and the embroiderers in the rear are embroidering brocade.
3. Watching the Iron Horse Glacier
Huayong Lu You's "Wind and Rain on November 4th": "Lying down at night listening to the wind and rain, the Iron Horse Glacier falls into a dream."
4. Thousands of tents and lanterns in the world of mortals, one journey through the wind and snow in the landscape and another again
Use Nalan Xingde's "Song of Love".
Mountains are one step away, and water is one step away. Walking towards the bank of Yuguan, there are thousands of lights in the night. The wind is blowing, the snow is blowing, my hometown dreams are shattered, and there is no such sound in my hometown.
"Look at the iron horse treading the glacier, silk thread sewing, the red dust of Shaohua, thousands of tents, lanterns, mountains and rivers, one journey, wind and snow, and another journey." My understanding: This sentence interweaves the battlefield, the embroidery room, and the scenes of sending the husband off to the war, highlighting the importance of embroidery. When my mother missed her husband countless times, her youth passed away quietly. Among them, "Thousands of lanterns in the world of mortals" refers to the lonely lanterns in the boudoir of thousands of embroiderers or the remaining lanterns in the camps of thousands of concubines? In fact, it doesn't matter, it expresses the scene of thousands of separated lovers missing each other under the night.
5. Red candle pillow, May flowers and deep leaves, June Xinghua Village
"Xinghua Village" is a place reference often used by ancient poets. For more than a thousand years, as Du Mu's "Qingming" "May I ask where the restaurant is? The shepherd boy pointed to Xinghua Village" was widely spread, the specific location of Xinghua Village has also been debated for more than a thousand years.
My understanding of this sentence: The accumulation of images shows the scene of the embroiderer waiting eagerly from May to June: the red candles and pillows at home look like the day of the wedding, but no one is there; the flowers bloom in the courtyard I have passed away Ye Mao, but I still don’t know the date of my husband’s return.
6. Thousands of red hands and green hair mean more chances of marriage
From "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix" by Lu You. This word is an excellent piece of "romantic love through the ages", which describes a touching love tragedy. According to "Remaining Poems of the Past Dynasties", Lu You married his cousin Tang Wan when he was young and had a deep relationship with her. But because Lu's mother didn't like Tang Wan, she forced them to marry separately. One day ten years later, Lu You met Tang Wan unexpectedly during a spring outing in Shen Yuan. Lu You felt sad for this scene for a long time and wrote the poem "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix". It is said that after Tang Wan learned about this word, he was filled with emotion and wrote a poem about it: "The hairpin head and the phoenix are ruthless in the world". Although these two poems were written by different people, the former one was written by Lu You, a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the latter one was written by his ex-wife Tang Wan, they are infiltrated with the same resentment and helplessness. Attached are two words:
Lu You's "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix"
Red hands, yellow wine, the city is full of spring scenery and willows on the palace walls. The east wind is bad, happiness is thin, and I am full of melancholy. I have been away for a few years. Wrong, wrong, wrong!
Spring is as old as ever, people are thin and empty, and the tears are red and raw. The peach blossoms have fallen, and the pavilion is idle. Although the mountain alliance is there, it is difficult to hold the brocade book. Mo, mo, mo!
Tang Wan's "The Hairpin-headed Phoenix"
The world is thin, human nature is evil, and flowers fall easily at dusk when it rains. At dawn, the wind has dried, and the traces of tears remain. I want to write down my thoughts, and I talk alone across the fence. Difficult, difficult, difficult!
People are different, today is not yesterday, and the sick soul is always like a rope on a swing. The sound of the horn is cold, the night is dark, I am afraid of being asked, so I swallow my tears and pretend to be happy. Hide it, hide it, hide it!
Hongsu is also called "Hongsu" to describe its rosy and soft color.
My understanding: This sentence describes the scene of the embroidery lady embroidering. It is not only beautiful (jade hands, beautiful hair, like Shu brocade with fine hair), but also emotional (the embroiderer looks forward to the love between her and her husband). The red thread is as thin and dense as the needle thread in her hand, so the boring embroidery work has special meaning to her: with every additional stitch, the bond between her and her husband becomes stronger).
7. Waiting for the setting sun to illuminate the solitary shadow. Peonies dye the copper bottles. The city is filled with the sound of herding flutes. The beautiful lady leans on the door and watches you on your return journey.
"The setting sun", the setting sun. There are many poems describing this scene, just take Bai Juyi's "Ode to the Dusk River" as an example: "A setting sun spreads over the water, half of the river is rustling and half of the river is red. Poor night on the third day of September, the dew is like pearls and the moon is like a bow."
< p>The artistic conception of "The Solitary Shadow of the Setting Sun" is very similar to Ma Zhiyuan's "Autumn Thoughts on the Pure Sky and Sand" of the Yuan Dynasty: "Withered vines and old trees have dim crows, small bridges and flowing water have people's houses, and the old road has a westerly wind and a thin horse. The sun sets in the west, and heartbroken people are at the end of the world." ""Peony" blooms from April to May. "Zun" is an ancient wine container, also written as "Zun". Familiar sayings include "If you are happy in life, you must enjoy it to the fullest, and don't let the golden bottle empty to face the moon" (Li Bai's "About to Enter the Wine") "The world is like a dream, and a bottle can return the moon over the river" (Su Shi's "Niannujiao: Chibi Nostalgia").
“Waiting for the setting sun to shine on the solitary peonies dyeing the copper bottles, and filling the city with the sound of herding flutes, the lady is leaning against the door to watch you on your return journey.” My understanding: This sentence describes the embroiderer standing alone (at the gate of the city) waiting for her husband. Return. (At this time, all the peonies are blooming in the city, and the sound of the shepherd's flute is heard.
In fact, compared to "Peony Dyed Copper Bottle" which is a real scene, I tend to think it corresponds to the "Silk Thread Sewing Shaohua" above, which is also the scene of the embroiderer embroidering, and describes the appearance of Shu embroidery in the hands of the embroiderer)
< p>8. Rivers flow into the sea, and all things are for whom. The spring and the moon shine never leave others"The flow of rivers into the sea" reminds me of Wang Zhihuan's "Climbing the Stork Tower". The current of the sea. If you want to see a thousand miles away, go to the next level."
"For whom spring comes from all things" should be quoted from Nalan's "Spring in the Painting Hall": One generation has two people, two people compete for education. Ecstasy. If we love each other but don't love each other, who will be the spring? It's easy to beg for blood from the blue bridge, but it's hard to run across the blue sea for medicine. If you visit me and drink Oxford, you will forget your poverty.
"The bright moon cannot illuminate enough to leave others", Yan Shu's "Butterflies in Love with Flowers": The chrysanthemums on the threshold are worried about the smoke and the orchids are weeping with dew. The curtain is slightly cold, and the swallows fly away. The bright moon does not know the pain of parting, and the slanting light penetrates Zhuhu at dawn. Last night the west wind withered the green trees. Go up to the tall building alone and see the road to the end of the world. If you want to send a colorful note, there is no ruler. How can you know where the mountains are long and the rivers are vast?
9. The green bamboo weeps with ink marks, the brocade calligraphy and painting cannot be completed, the love needles and threads are endless, and the mandarin duck pillow
"Jin Shu" uses Su Hui's story. "Book of Jin·Biography of Dou Tao's Wife Su": "Tao, Fu Jian was the governor of Qinzhou at the time, and was exiled to Liusha. Su thought about it, and weaved a brocade of palindrome and swirling pictures as a gift to Tao, and tactfully circulated it for reading. In this life, the words are very sad, with eight hundred and forty characters." Later, the wife's letter to her husband was called Jin Wen, with the word Jin. This allusion is commonly used, see "The Hairpin's Phoenix": "Although the mountain alliance is there, it is difficult to trust the brocade book." There is also Li Qingzhao's "One Cut of Plum Blossoms":
The fragrance of red lotus roots lingers in the jade mat in autumn. He undressed Luo Shang lightly and boarded the orchid boat alone.
Who in the clouds sent a brocade book? When Yan Zi returns, the moon is full on the west tower.
The flowers float and the water flows. One kind of lovesickness, two places of idle sorrow.
There is no way to eliminate this feeling, so I just frowned, but it was in my heart.
"Mandarin duck pillow" is used by lovers. The pillow is embroidered with mandarin ducks, but they want to agree until death. In "The Romance of the West Chamber", the matchmaker holds a pillow and sends Cui Yingying to meet Zhang Sheng. She has a mandarin duck pillow and an emerald quilt. She is shy and refuses to raise her head. Her bow shoes are narrow and her phoenix head is narrow, and there are gold hairpins hanging from her temples. My understanding of this sentence is still longing for return, and it also describes the true love between the two.
10. In this life, you will be smiling and arrogant, windy and moonlight, as thin as a knife, urging you to grow old and have a happy life with you in the next life.
"Chaochaomumu" is very famous, Qin Guan's " "Magpie Bridge Immortal": The thin clouds make tricks, the flying stars spread hatred, and the silver man crosses the far distance in secret. Once the golden wind and jade dew meet, they will win over countless others in the world. Tenderness is like water, good times are like dreams, and I can't help but look at the Magpie Bridge on the way home. If the love lasts for a long time, how can it last day and night?
In addition to resentment, this sentence adds a touch of open-mindedness. This embroiderer is like the needle and thread in her hands, gentle, delicate and tough as silk. If we can't stay together in this life, we will be together in the next life. Let’s be with you day and night!
11. Winding the fingers softly breaks the brocade. Thousands of needles cuckoo cry and the sound of blood is heard. The hibiscus blossoms in Shu Kingdom are all colorful. In a blink of an eye, the dust returns to dust.
"Rounding the fingers softly" comes from Liu Kun's "Rounding the Fingers" in the Western Jin Dynasty. Two lines from the poem "A Gift to Lu Chen": "How can it be that after steel is refined a thousand times, it will turn into softness that can be wrapped around the fingers?" It means that I didn't expect that after a lot of hard work, it would become a sword that is so soft that it can be wrapped around the fingers. The original poem expresses the author's emotion about making great achievements but being unable to achieve them, and is full of the sadness of a hero's frustration. In modern times, it is usually used to mean that a woman's tenderness can melt a steely hero. In this poem, I think it is a pun. In addition to the tenderness of the embroiderer, it should also refer directly to the silk thread wrapped around her fingers.
"The cuckoo cries for blood", it is said that the cuckoo cries sadly day and night, and stops until blood comes out. Often used to describe extreme grief. Bai Juyi's "Pipa Xing": "What did you hear at dawn and dusk? The cuckoo crows and the blood ape mourns." There is also a legend that the monarch of Shu in the late Zhou Dynasty looked forward to the emperor. After he retired from the Zen throne, unfortunately his country died and his soul turned into a bird after his death. , cries bitterly in late spring, and bleeds from the mouth. Its sound is sad and sad, touching the heart, and is called cuckoo.
Li Shangyin's "Untitled Brocade" uses this allusion: "Zhuang Sheng's dawn dream is fascinated by butterflies, and the emperor's spring heart is supported by cuckoos." "Dust to dust" comes from the Bible: "ashes to ashes, and dust to dust; in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection unto eternal life", translated as "dust to dust, soil to soil, let the dead be at peace, and let the living regain liberation." This sentence still expresses the embroiderer's earnest desire for her husband to come back.
12. The war song bids farewell to people who want to leave their souls, and they are deeply affectionate. This is true.
"Living people", many ancient poems express the feeling of parting, and use the feeling of parting to highlight it. There are many poems that depict sad and poignant scenes. For example, Wang Shifu's "The Romance of the West Chamber": "The sky is blue, the ground is yellow, the west wind is strong, and the wild geese from the north are flying south. Whoever comes in the morning and is drunk in the frost forest will always leave in tears." The finishing touch of Su Shi's "Water Dragon's Song": "Fine. It seems that it is not Yanghua, but the tears of Liren."
The flowers bloomed and fell into the dust in the blink of an eye. Even though my tenderness turned into extreme sorrow, you have not returned yet, Sir. Thinking of the parting scene that year, I feel infinitely sad. Were all the sweet words you said then true?
Then why haven’t you come back yet?
