"Nine-grade Lotus Lanterns" began in the 15th year of Ming Yizong and was founded by Lu Wenhui and Chen Zhongyu, the direct disciples of Mr. Lin Longjiang. It is developed, adapted and combined with the popular local Puxian Opera music based on the Taoist "Lotus Lantern Running" ritual. It was first popular in the Puxian area of ??Fujian Province, and later spread throughout the country by followers of the three religions. With the changes of the times, the Nine Lotus Lantern Dance has either been lost or evolved, but Juying Academy has preserved this dance relatively completely.
