The open world survival game Terraria was updated to version 1.4 Journey’s End on May 17. The new version has been balanced and has been updated with new content. Let’s take a look at the updated version. 1.4 Changes
A. Main features:
Added journey mode, new character/world dual difficulty (requires supporting use) to provide players with an unprecedented free experience. Has a series of unique features including prop replication, weather control, monster refresh rate, strength settings, and more.
Added Master Mode, a new top level of difficulty that surpasses experts. Challenge your skills with stronger difficulty, and maybe get a chance to pick up some unique rewards from each boss.
Two new bosses have been added for you to discover and challenge.
Added an illustrated book, an encyclopedia that includes enemies, companions and small animals you have seen during your journey.
A golf mini-game has been added, an entertainment activity to help you kill time between killing monsters.
The Windy Sky has been added, along with a range of environmental effects and even new enemies.
The town coordinate tower and NPC happiness value have been added, and town construction has been expanded, allowing players to build their own teleportation networks around the world.
A1. Controller related:
The function of LT RT when switching menus has been changed. Pressing LT RT before will bring you to different options, but now you can press one key all the time. You can cycle through menus.
There is now a new option in the key binding interface that can change the cursor movement speed in the inventory, called interface Movement Delay.
Improved the key to unassign NPC houses.
Added new option to allow players to completely turn off controller support. (Allowing players with third-party controller configuration software to use their own configuration)
When using the prop function from the inventory of the controller, props such as blood medicine or magic mirror will be used immediately. (This was not the case before? The PSV version also uses it immediately.)
When you build the next prop while holding the built prop on the cursor, the previous prop will be automatically put into the backpack space to make room.
The quick crafting button on the controller is not that fast, and the backpack has already exploded by the time I regain my senses.
When using the controller, only the names of nearby NPCs will be displayed, instead of all names.
B. Menu/UI:
Official texture pack support, now has its own options in the main menu.
Added marquee support to several major manufacturers’ keyboards, it’s so cool (good reading).
Block replacement has been added, allowing players to directly replace already placed blocks without digging them out in advance. Additional features include allowing players to directly replace chests and lockers without having to empty their contents.
Terraria now has a new opening screen.
Added a fully revamped character/world generation interface.
Added Boss health bar.
Added emoticon commands and emoticon menu.
Added help information content when generating the world.
Added two new health/mana tank styles.
Added a series of minimap frame styles.
Added recommended achievement icons to guide players to unlock achievements more easily.
Added a new achievement for building a workbench.
B. World generation and ecology:
Significantly optimize the world generation speed.
A variety of naturally generated environmental background walls can be transformed into each other using clentaminator. Some jungle background walls can be transformed into other walls, but cannot be transformed back into jungle walls, only stone walls. Previously, natural jungle walls were completely immune to the effects of clentaminator.
Significantly changed the structure and frequency of deserts, which are now less common, larger in size, and have more naturally occurring dunes.
Snow ecology is now further away from the spawn point and has a narrower range.
The naturally generated underground minecart tracks are now longer and have a more interesting layout.
The Underground Mushroom Field has been redesigned and is larger.
Updated the picture of the top of the mushroom tree, and also updated the background walls of some mushroom fields.
Improved the generation of marble background walls, which will not be so square.
Ice skates now change color based on the current environment instead of staying blue.
Rain will now change its color based on the current environment's water color.
The upper limit of the number of treasure chests has been increased from 1000 to 8000. (The gold boxes lying around on the ground need to be returned)
The more complex world generation system makes the shape of the underground cabin more messy, and there are more furniture inside. As a compensation, the probability of generating paintings is increased until you find it. The chance of painting will only decrease within a reasonable range.
The grass that grows in front of the green leaf/flowery leaf background wall will also have flowers, which is different from other background walls.
Sunflower now also blocks the spread of Holy.
Critter statues now appear during world generation.
Wooden chests now have a chance to contain a pile of wood.
A new system has been added, which will fill in the small gaps in the background wall left by direct generation, bringing a cleaner background wall look and feel.
Sandstorms appear more frequently, especially in the early stages of the game.
The intensity of the strong wind has decreased, and players will not push as hard.
Rain appears slightly more frequently.
C. Environmental effects:
Added windy weather, a series of environmental effects, and even new enemies.
Added a series of background objects in the sky.
Added celebration activities after defeating the boss and events for the first time. The good times for the Terran people are coming!
Added a small ecology in the cemetery.
Added uncommon thunderstorm environmental weather.
The probability of meteor showers appearing will be increased, which will significantly increase the refresh rate of falling stars.
Added new meteor background animation in the sky
Added the functions of blinking, closing eyes and squinting to the player character, which will appear naturally according to the situation.

After a long delay, the winning entry of the Terraria music competition, music by Xenon and DJ Sniper, has been added to the game! As a music box.
F. Enemies and small animals:
Two new bosses have been added.
Added some blood moon fishing enemies.
Added some enemies in Qifengtian.
Added enemies to some other environments, such as mushroom fields and underground.
Added dwarves.
Added wild friendly elves and elf wood. (I don’t know what the original Fairy logs is)
Naturally, we also added the Genie in a Bottle prop.
Many new animals have been added.
Added some underground animals.
Added goldfish(?) and some other golden animals.
G. NPC and Coordinate Tower:
Added Golf Man.
Added a cute animal-eared zoologist.
Added NPC happiness setting, which is determined by the environment and neighbors. (Not mentioned here, it is actually affected by population density)
The town coordinate tower is added, a means of rapid transmission between built towns.
Added cats, dogs, and rabbits as town pets.
H. Fishing:
Added Blood Moon Fishing, a gourmet pastime filled with new enemies and treasures.
Added oasis fishing and a series of bonus props, such as fishing rods.
Added two kinds of oasis mission fish.
Two methods of lava fishing have been added, and the harvesting pool for lava fishing has been greatly expanded.
Added fishing bucket. (The bait may be used to increase the speed of hooking?)
Ice, oasis, lava and ocean boxes have been added.
I. Equipment and Props:
A new ultimate sword has been added as a celebration of your journey, from beginning to end. (Still a little touched)
The Moon Lord’s drop added Celebration Mk2, an upgraded replacement for Celebration, while Celebration was replaced elsewhere.
Added Super Star Shooter, an advanced Star Canon in Hard Mode.
An entire new summoner weapon class has been added, the Whip. (Are you the descendant of Belmont?)
Added the Summoner Helmet of the Holy Set.
Added a series of jewelry synthesis. (This sentence is not very certain)
A series of synthesis recipes have been added, which can only be synthesized in the Ecto Mist weather in the cemetery environment. (Not sure if it’s because of the weather, the name is foggy)
Tie NPCs to live in the cemetery, and they will sell new things.
Zapinator has been added back, and there are two colors.
