Yehu’s daily life applications

Trendy people like Chao music very much. Many people in the crowd can play strings and blow strings, and the most common and widely used musical instrument is Ye Hu. Both Teochew opera and Teochew music groups have coconut palm players. In rural study rooms or "leisure rooms", people often pull coconut palms for fun.

Yehu is made from a larger coconut shell, peeled and polished, then cut into one-third straight, covered with a thin paulownia board, and an egg-sized through flower is carved on the back to form a *** Ring box. Then install a long string pole, install two muslin string strings on the pole, install the secondary and secondary strings, and match the horsetail string bow, and use a clam shell to cover the paulownia board to resist the secondary and primary strings. It is made of "string horse". Drop a small piece of rosin on the left side of the coconut shell where the string bow is pulled, twist the string tightly and adjust the scale, and then you can play.

The coconut shell is solid, the tung board is loose and foamy, and the sound of the coconut palm is loud and smooth, just like the sound made in an urn, so the trendy people call coconut palm "humxian" or "xiangxian" . Yehu can be played in ensembles, and is indispensable for Teochew opera troupes, Teochew orchestras and folk Teochew music ensembles. No matter how sharp and crisp the sound of the second string of the sandalwood is, how loud the sound of the Huqin is, how melodious the Yaoqin is, and how beating the sound of the flute is, they cannot drown out the music of the Coconut Huqin. As for mass La Yehu, it is more of a solo performance. Whether in the "free space", under the banyan tree, by the pond, or in a squatter's shed, there are often people enjoying themselves with their coconut palms. Individual singers often carry only a handful of coconut palms and go from house to house, putting the string pipe on the left side of the abdomen and singing at the same time. This is what the city slang calls "pooping the shit out of the belly". At night, if you pull the coconut palm in a pond shed or mountain hut, the sound can be heard farther. If you pull it well, it will be like complaining and touching people's thoughts. Coconut Hu is also the introductory string for the trendy people to learn Chaozhou music. This kind of string is not afraid of beginners playing randomly. People are welcome to play the newly made Coconut Hu, and people are welcome to play it more, and the more it is played, the faster it will "open up". The so-called "open tone" means that the timbre gradually changes from the original sibilant to loud and smooth.

Most of the introductory string poems (music scores) are based on the most familiar and simple "Gong Chi Gong Liu Gong Chi Gong" that is generally familiar to people. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chaozhou music poems were written in simplified music notation, but many people still used "Gongchi notation" to play strings.
