The historical origin of Yinglong: Yinglong first appeared in the previous Yellow Emperor period, which is recorded in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas" and "Historical Records". The general idea is that there was a war between the tribes in the Yellow River Basin headed by the Yellow Emperor and the tribes in the Yangtze River Basin headed by Chiyou. Both sides used various magical animals to help. Yinglong on Huangdi's side was good at "retaining water", and there was also a spirit creature on Chiyou's side who was good at making wind and rain.
