Introduction :
"Sanjie Liu" is a song and dance drama adapted from Guangxi folklore. According to legend, during the time of Zhongzong of the Tang Dynasty, there was a smart and beautiful Zhuang girl who could sing folk songs. She often used folk songs to praise labor, nature and love. She also used folk songs to expose the cruel exploitation and oppression of the working people by the ruling class and express the wishes of the working people. She was deeply loved by the people and respected as the "Song Fairy". She was Liu Sanjie. The Cai Diao drama "Liu San Jie" is the earliest successful version of the same-themed literary and artistic work after liberation. It was written and performed by the Liuzhou Cai Diao Drama Troupe in 1959, created by the Liuzhou "Liu San Jie" creative team, and adapted by the Guangxi "Liu San Jie" performance conference.
The following is a synopsis of the scenes of this play (the original work is in the "Script"):
Prologue: Early in the morning, on the river, an old fisherman with white eyebrows is carrying a hard-working and brave Zhuang girl. Sister Liu San and her brother Liu Er. The two brothers and sister had to seek refuge with their grandmother because of their love and persecution by evil forces. The third sister stood on the boat and sang loudly. The singing expressed her spirit of resistance and struggle and her love for the beautiful nature. The old fisherman couldn't help praising the beautiful singing. The boat encountered rapids and was shaken by the impact. The third sister was not afraid at all. She sang: "As long as the flowing water stays long, one day it will overwhelm the Jiuzhong Mountain."
The first scene: Seeking relatives. On the riverside pier in the village where Liu Sanjie's grandmother Wei Laonai lives, Mo Fu, the henchman of the bully landlord Mo Hairen, tries to grab the wild animal shot by the hunter, but is thrown to the ground by Li Xiaoniu. The old fisherman led Liu Sanjie and Liu Er to the crowd and laughed at Mo Fu's ugly appearance. At this time, Mo Hairen's housekeeper Mo Jincai arrived with his servants to support Mo Fu and asked Li Xiaoniu to hand over the prey. Third Sister Liu came out and angrily scolded the Mo family for being such a loser: "If the road is not level, everyone will step on it; if the road is not level, everyone will lift it; if the beam is not straight, it doesn't matter whether it is slanted or crooked." Everyone praised Third Sister's fighting behavior and said she was smart and bold. girl. When everyone learned that she was Sister Liu who could sing folk songs, they were all very happy. The third sister Shi Mei met her cousin Lan Fen and lived in her grandmother's house from then on.
The second scene: protecting the mountain. One year later in the spring, the girls in the village were picking tea on the hillside. Since the third sister came here, they have learned many folk songs. The tea mountain was filled with joyful singing. Li Xiaoniu told his third sister that he would give a golden pheasant he shot to Liu Er, but the girls revealed his love for his third sister, making Xiaoniu very embarrassed. The old fisherman came over with a sign with the word "Mo" written on it and said that Mo Hairen had inserted the sign into the tea mountain. Everyone realized that Mo Hairen wanted to occupy Chashan and decided to fight him together. Mo Jincai took his servants to the tea mountain and issued an order strictly prohibiting tea picking and logging, and building the Mo family's ancestral tomb on the mountain. Everyone, led by Sanjie Liu, denounced the Mo family's banditry and exposed the closure of the mountain as a conspiracy to dominate the mountain. Mo Jincai heard that the third sister dared to scold Mo Hairen, saying that the third sister Liu had eaten the courage of a leopard. But Sanjie Liu replied: "If you dare to scold the emperor with reason, it doesn't matter whether you are the master or not." Everyone responded in unison. When Mo Jincai saw that Fengshan's conspiracy was destroyed by Liu Sanjie, he threatened Liu Sanjie again.
The third scene: trick. Landowner Mo Hairen's family. Mo Hairen is a fierce bully, and the poor people call him a "murderer". When Mo Jincai came back, he said that Sister Liu was instigating mischief and not allowing the Mo family to dominate the mountains and forests. Mo Hairen looked at the parrot with the tongue in the cage, and hatched a plan to trick Sister Liu into coming over, so that she would become his "bird in the cage" and no longer be able to lead everyone to fight with him.
Scene 4: Refusal to marry. The third sister was embroidering a quiver for Xiao Niu, and Xiao Niu came to see the third sister. The two confessed their unchanging love to each other: "Lian Lian, we have been friends for hundreds of years. Who dies at the age of ninety-seven, Naihe on the bridge Wait three years." Matchmaker Wang was ordered to come to the Liu family with the Mo family's betrothal gift and persuade the third sister to marry the Mo family. The matchmaker's sweet words not only failed to impress the third sister, but were ridiculed by the third sister. Mo Hairen came to the Liu family in person, and seeing that the third sister firmly disagreed, he asked Liu Er to pay it back immediately on the grounds that Liu Er had not repaid the money he borrowed for medical treatment last year, otherwise he would be sent to the official for punishment, unless the third sister agreed to the marriage. The third sister wisely proposed that if Mo Hairen wants to get married, he must first set up a singing stage. If Mo Hairen asks others to sing antiphonal songs for him and still can't win, not only will he not be able to propose marriage from now on, but he will also not be allowed to occupy the tea mountain. Mo Hairen had no choice but to agree to the third sister's conditions.
Scene 5: Antiphon. Mo Hairen invited three scholars, Tao, Li and Luo. The scholar filled a boatload of song books, and Mo Hairen won the song accurately, feeling very proud. The three sour scholars came to the river, but they did not recognize Liu Sanjie. The old fisherman pretended that Liu Sanjie was Liu Sanmei. Granny Wei also said that if Liu Sanmei is right, then she should not go to Liu Sanmei. The three scholars sang duets with "Liu Sanmei". The third sister takes the lead in every antiphon. When Mo Hairen brought people here, the three scholars realized that "Liu Sanmei" was Liu Sanjie. The antiphon begins again. The three scholars took turns asking questions, but none of them stumped the third sister. The further down the line, the more panicked the scholars became. They flipped through the song books at random, but they couldn't find a song that was difficult for Liu Sanjie. Seeing that the situation was not good, Mo Hairen played tricks and said that the winner would be decided another day, but the crowd did not respond. It was Sister Liu's turn to ask the question, and the three scholars answered incorrectly, causing everyone to burst into laughter. The scholar was in a hurry, and Mo Hairen was so angry that he could not speak.
Scene 6: Conspiracy. After the antiphon failed, Mo Hairen was so angry that he fell ill.
Mo Jincai reported to him the joy of the poor after the victory in the antiphonal song, and said that the poor would go to the song fair at night to congratulate the third sister on the victory in the antiphonal song and ask Sanjie Liu to pass on the song. Mo Hairen made a plot and prepared to go to the government, saying that the poor sang anti-songs and asked the government to ban singing. This conspiracy was overheard by the maid at home.
Game 7: Arrangement. In the evening when we go to the festival, there are happy scenes everywhere. People from all over came to pay homage to Sanjie Liu. The maid from Mo Mansion came and told the story about Mo Hairen colluding with the government to ban singing tonight. Everyone advised Third Sister to leave the place, but Third Sister Liu insisted on singing. In the end, everyone unanimously supported it. The villagers and Sister Liu set up folk song formations on all sides, preparing to piss off the "murderer" to death.
The eighth game: Resisting the ban. That night, singers from all over the world gathered at the song fair. Liu Sanjie, Xiao Niu, Liu Er and others were hidden in the crowd. When Mo Hairen hypocritically said that as long as Sanjie Liu stopped singing, he would be in front of the state officials. The third sister walked out of the crowd and exposed Mo Hairen's disguise. The singing of Third Sister Liu and the crowd made Mo Hairen and the thugs faint with anger. Mavericks shot down the ban with one arrow, and shot down Mo Hairen's hat with another arrow. Mo Hairen was petrified, and Third Sister Liu was nowhere to be found. The crowd cheered in unison.
End: singing songs. The sky is filled with colorful clouds, and golden waves are rolling on the river.
Third Sister and Xiao Niu sat in the old fisherman's boat, said goodbye to the villagers, and traveled to all corners of the country to spread their songs...
