In August, 1954, Feiming Yue Opera Troupe performed this play to express condolences to the People's Liberation Army, with Lu Jinjuan as the leading role.
in March, 1955, a group of East China Yue Opera Experimental Troupe premiered in Shanghai Popular Theater. Director Zhong Min and Zhu Keng, music design by Xiang Guansen and Gao Ming, art design by Su Shifeng, lighting design by Wu newspaper and dance design by Xue Chuangang. Jin Caifeng plays Liu Yuee, Lu Jinhua plays Lv Mengzheng, Ren Dihua plays Liu Mao, Wei Xiaoyun plays Mrs. Liu, Feng Xiaonong plays Qi Tang, and Zhu Juxiang plays Tang Ba. The play exposed the cold and warm human feelings and the cold world in feudal society, and praised the traditional virtues of the hero and heroine, such as "wealth can't be lewd, power can't be bent, and poverty can't be moved". In the play, "Comment on Snow" is a drama with meaningful language and detailed description of the psychological activities of the characters, which is often performed as a passbook drama. Liu Yuee, played by Jin Caifeng, is soft and gentle, showing the temperament of a woman's husband; Lv Mengzheng, played by Lu Jinhua, not only shows the talent, ambition and pride of the characters, but also reveals a pedantry and sour spirit. The play is reserved for Shanghai Yue Theatre. In 198, a troupe of the Academy performed in the form of male and female co-productions, with Liu Jue as Lv Mengzheng, Jin Caifeng as Liu Yuee, Xu Ruifa as Liu Mao, Huo Yehan as Qi Tang and Ling Zhongqi as Tang Ba. In 196, Shanghai Yue Theatre went to Hong Kong with a performance of "A Review of Snow", which was published in the second episode of "The Essence of Yue Opera" by Wan Li Bookstore in Hong Kong. In 1981, the whole drama was produced and broadcast by Shanghai TV Station. The main aria in the play have been made into records and tapes by Chinese record companies and audio-visual publishing units for distribution. In 1986, Shanghai Yue Theatre took the play to Hong Kong to perform.
