How to choose effective music teaching methods

1. Teaching method

The teaching method of basic music knowledge and basic skills is mainly based on teaching method, audio-visual combination method, and contact and comparison method, which is different from the methods used in general skill training. It is a teaching method in which teachers impart knowledge to students through oral language. It is easy to grasp all the music knowledge and music conventions conveyed (including basic music theory, music expression methods, analysis and processing of works, etc.). It requires teachers to have strong language expression skills, and when using it, they must cooperate with other teaching methods and flexibly change the specific teaching methods. If used improperly, students' enthusiasm and initiative may be suppressed, and even lead to "full lectures", which will affect the teaching effect. Therefore, when teachers use the explanation method, the language should be vivid and vivid. When describing the teaching content, they can intersperse some vivid descriptions or anecdotes related to the content to enhance the effect of the teaching. During the explanation, intuitive wall charts, audios, demonstrations, etc. can also be interspersed to make the explanation clearer and thorough.

2. Rhythm Method

Rhythm teaching should focus on students in lower grades of primary schools. In teaching, teachers should provide students with demonstrations of simpler possibilities and use a large number of game methods. For example: in the method of rhythm solitaire, the teacher demonstrates a rhythm, and the students demonstrate solitaire by adapting or creating a rhythm, and so on. Rhythm in the form of games can better mobilize students' enthusiasm for learning and practicing. No matter in the teaching of instrumental music, appreciation or music knowledge, the focus should be on image and interest for lower grade students, so as to give full play to students' creative abilities.

3. Demonstration method

The demonstration method is for teachers to use their own singing, piano sound, language and movements to convey the beauty of music to students. Since children learn music starting from imitation, teachers’ demonstration is indispensable for students to learn various skills in the classroom, especially in singing, instrumental music, dance and other teaching activities, teacher demonstration is indispensable. Therefore, the demonstration method is also one of the important methods of music teaching. The demonstration method in modern music classes not only involves teachers singing and playing, but also using teaching aids and gesture prompts, and using multimedia and other means to coordinate. When demonstrating, complete demonstrations and key demonstrations should be used comprehensively, and the important and difficult points of the content should be demonstrated or compared in a timely manner to make it easier for students to understand. Reasonable use of demonstration methods can improve students' interest, enhance students' sensitivity to music, and develop students' observation and imagination.

4. Appreciation Method

Appreciation classes account for an increasing proportion of music courses, so the application of appreciation method is also becoming increasingly important. The appreciation method is to guide students to feel the content and emotions expressed by music through listening or watching works. Therefore, the appreciation method should be inspired by asking questions, and various means such as poetry, writing, and pictures can also be used to prompt students to associate and imagine. This allows students to understand the connection between timbre and the performance of musical works, stimulate students' emotional experience through association and imagination, feel and understand the emotions and artistic conception of musical works, deepen their understanding of musical images, and arouse inner cries. For more complex works, the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison should also be used throughout the entire process of students learning to appreciate music, to promote students' feelings about music, guide students to actively participate and think actively, and use existing music knowledge and skills to analyze music works. Through the emotional changes of listening to music, students can gradually understand the overall emotion of music works, feel the contrast and changes of musical elements such as beat, rhythm, timbre, harmony, orchestration, etc., and fully improve students' musical literacy and ability to feel and appreciate beauty.

The choice of teaching methods should be based on the content and characteristics of different teaching materials. A good music class must be comprehensive. Only when multiple teaching methods cooperate with each other and are used rationally can they achieve mutually reinforcing effects. In short, when choosing music teaching methods, we should pay attention to cultivating and developing students' musical aesthetic ability, paying attention to mobilizing students' enthusiasm and initiative in learning, and cultivating students' interests and hobbies in learning music. When choosing, we must not only correctly treat various teaching methods that have been tested by long-term teaching practice and are still applicable today, but also scientifically and rationally absorb new research results, adopt modern teaching methods, and create teaching methods that are in line with the actual music teaching.
