The University of Birmingham in the UK is equivalent to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in China. The school's landmark building, the Joseph Chamberlain Bell Tower, is the world's tallest free-standing bell tower and was erected in memory of the school's founder, Joseph Chamberlain. The School of Music was founded by Edward Elgar, who was the first professor of the school and whose precious manuscripts are now in the school. The university owns the Lapworth Museum of Geology and the Barber Institute of Fine Art. Among them, the Barber Art Museum is one of the best museums in the UK, housing famous works by Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and many others.
