Bar in English can be PUB or BAR, there are subtle differences between the two. Club refers to a nightclub.
Pub is a traditional British pub, most common in the United Kingdom and former British colonial countries. Traditionally, pubs are linked to various breweries and specialize in beer from a certain brewery. Even now, it is common to see the major beer brands sold at pub entrances in the UK. Pubs often feature beer, but spirits, wine or cocktails are also available, but they are all relatively simple.
Bar is the origin of the word bar, which originally refers to the bar table in the bar. Bar can be of all kinds, so it has become a general term for almost all drinking places other than restaurants. It can be a shabby little bar, it can be a high-end luxury bar, it can be a dance club, or it can be a place with dance, band, and theater performances.
Club is actually the abbreviation of night club, which generally refers to what we call nightclubs and dance halls. It is a bit different from the word club itself as a membership organization. The difference between a club and other bars is that there is a dance floor inside (a large club may have 2-3 dance floors of different sizes separated from each other) and there are fewer seats.
Dancing or watching a band perform live is the main purpose of coming here. The volume of the music is very loud, and the chat often turns to body language. Although the wine in a club is not necessarily bad, and the wine in a high-end club may be very good and expensive, this is not a place for wine tasting.
Historical source:
Originally, in the American West, cowboys and robbers liked to gather in taverns to drink. Since they all came on horseback, the tavern owner set up a crossbar in front of the tavern to tie the horses.
Later, cars replaced horse-drawn carriages, the number of people riding horses gradually decreased, and most of these crossbars were removed. There was a tavern owner who was unwilling to throw away this crossbar that had become a symbol of the tavern, so he removed it and placed it under the counter. Unexpectedly, it became a good place for customers to step on, and it became very popular among customers.
Since Hengmu pronounces "bar" in English, people simply translate pub as "bar", just like translating "pie" for cake into "pie".
The word bar comes from the homophonic pronunciation of the English word (Bar). Its original meaning refers to a long counter selling wine. It was a place where sailors, cowboys, businessmen and tourists spent time or vented their emotions in the past. After a hundred years of development and evolution, various "bars" that advocate modern civilization, pursue high-quality life, and are healthy and elegant are quietly entering people's leisure life, and at the same time, they have also formed a bright and unique cultural landscape in modern cities.
The bar is usually considered to be the main place for the supply and consumption of various alcoholic beverages. It is one of the catering departments of the hotel and is specially set up for guest beverage service and leisure. Bars often have a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and usually serve alcoholic beverages. Sodas and juices are always ready to serve guests who are not good at drinking.
